Digital Technologies, Inc.

Program Description:

Web students The emergence of digital media in our society offers many new opportunities for individuals with the proper training and experience. The Business & Computer Technology program and the Web Development & Administration program have been combined and expanded to form Digital Technologies, Inc. in order to encompass the rapid expansion of digital media.

DTI will operate as a company utilizing a wide variety of digital technology/media training opportunities. Students will be considered employees within the company and apply for career positions based on their desired occupational training areas. Employees will be allowed to apply for other positions within the company as they complete the skills required for their selected occupational areas. Some of the opportunities for employees will include: expanded training options, access to more resources, flexibility in training options, and training that more closely reflects the workplace environment. Some of the newest digital media areas that will be expanded include digital media publishing, digital video editing/production, and advanced 3D design and animation.

College Credit:

Students may receive up to 26 college credit hours towards an Associate's Degree in Office Information Systems Technology through OSU-Okmulgee.

Students can receive 42 hours of college credit through Northern Oklahoma College and lack only 18 hours of general education credit to receive their Associate's Degree. Through a state-wide agreement developed by the Oklahoma Department of Career Tech, those 60 credit hours will transfer to Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma, towards a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences Degree in Technical Management.

Certifications:

Industry certifications targeted include: IC3, Microsoft Office Specialist, Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW Associate, Site Designer, E-Commerce Designer, and CIW Master Designer), CompTIA i-Net+, and several Brainbench certifications.

Career Opportunities (Job Titles):

There are many career opportunities available, such as Administrative Support, Office Manager, Medical Transcriptionist, Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk, Full-Charge Bookkeeper, Customer Service Rep, Media Specialist, Animator, 2D/3D Artist, Desktop Publisher/Designer, Web Designer, Web Producer, etc.

Student Organization:

CTTC pays for all students enrolled in this program to be a member of Business Professionals of America (BPA). They are encouraged to become actively involved in the local BPA chapter and receive Professional Development Contract points for their active participation. BPA promotes citizenship as well as leadership and development.

Tuition, Books, and Fees:

Board policy determines the tuition. Call the school for a current fee schedule.

Other Information:

Digital Technologies, Inc. is 1,050 clock hours in length. Sessions are offered in the morning from 8:05-11:05, and in the afternoon from 12:20-3:20. Students may complete the program in two years by attending one of the sessions, or complete the program in one year by attending all day.

Students select from the following pathways: Administration & Information Support, Financial Management & Accounting, Information Services & Support, and/or Interactive Media.
